The Peruvian Diego Elías will participate, Saturday, December 10, in a friendly tournament against the Egyptian Mohamed El-Shorbagy, ranked fourth in the sport’s world ranking.
The Peru Invitational will take place at the Club Terrazas de Miraflores squash complex starting at 11am. The match against Peru takes place after four other matches, around 12:30 pm.
Diego Elías, fifth in the PSA World Squash Ranking, will aim to beat Mohamed El Shorbagy, whom he has already faced in the Hong Kong Open Squash Championship.
Second Place at Hong Kong Open Squash Championship
On 4 December, Diego Elías finished second at the Hong Kong Open Squash Championship after losing in the final to Egypt’s Mostafa Assal 3–2.
In 95 minutes of play, our compatriot dropped to number 4 with partial results of 6-11, 6-11, 12-10, 11-9, 11-4.
In the semi-finals, Diego Elías defeated Mohamed El-Shorbagy 3-2.
A few days ago, the Peruvian athlete announced with optimism that he would return next year for more titles.
Diego Elías said on his Instagram: “Tour Asia… having a good time with friends, 26 years old and two finalists in Singapore and Hong Kong. Next year I’ll be back for the awards.”
